Money's Falling from the Sky

I was hit in the head with a penny today.

It fell from the sky, out of nowhere and hit me smack dab in the middle of my forehead.

Walking down Grand, I noticed a collection of shiny pennies sporadically fallen on the street and sidewalk. A homeless man ran over, screaming "What the hell you doin just throwin money away like that boy?" as he gathered up all that he could. As he was saying that, I looked up to the penny barreling down the sky and coming to a brief halt before bouncing to the ground...and probably into the hands of the homeless man.

Next time I'll look for dollars.

Intro to Jack Elliot

I saw Jack Elliot today. He sat on a park bench reading the morning news, holding his usual black coffee, taking three sips before throwing it away. He wasn’t really a coffee drinker. He hadn’t changed – his head sat on his neck like an ornamental egg in a four-point display, with the pointy end down and thrusting forward. He wore a goatee, perfectly trimmed, and an earnest expression. His features were soft-edged, as if eroded by a constant updraft. His hair, a handful of wispy, black strands, was swept straight back. I saw Jack Elliot today. Jack Elliot died one year ago.

The Time has Come...

After being adamantly opposed to blogs and the entire blogging world, I have finally given in. Blogging it is. Damn. I figure this thing can be a way for me to keep up on my writing/post odd things that happen to me/etc. We shall see how this goes.
I will post more later. When I have the time.
